Blue and Orange

This post I have gathered together some of my paintings of mandarins. Citrus has always been a feature of Dutch still life painting, however mandarins did not come to Europe earlier than 1805, so they were never seen in the golden age of Dutch painting. Since then however, the beautiful colour of mandarins has seen them feature in many still life paintings throughout the world.
