Today’s selection of images is from sketches done around town. Most are 30 minute drawings done on the spot. The images illustrate the initial steps on the pathway that a painting may take on its way to becoming a reality.
The images feature a number of small corner stores, some from suburbia or country towns. The buildings in these sketches are not modern buildings, most have felt the tug of weather and time and they show the results of age. However, the slight wonkyness of old buildings give them character and personality and that speaks to the human condition more than the glass and chrome of the modern shopping malls.
