This week I am showing a selection of my landscapes from around Queensland. Some are iconic, for example the historic Jondaryn Woolshed. Others are on quiet country roads and are places that you wouldn’t immediately notice. Despite that, I think they convey the essence of the southern corner of Queensland.
The landscapes include a number of old houses, though none of them are disused and abandoned. The landscapes are all real places, or at least they were. I sketched some of these landscapes twenty years ago. The original buildings could well have been demolished or modernised since then. I like to paint a range of subjects, though the focus of much of my work these days is still life painting.
Next Exhibition
My next art exhibition will be held at the Brisbane Institute of Art from 10th to the 23rd November 2022. Send me a note and I’ll remind you before my art show starts. Christine.
