Horses

My favourite animal subject is the horse. I grew up in the sheep farming district of New Zealand and several of my school friends  lived on farms and had their own horses, on which I learned to ride. Later, in South Australia, I had my own horse for a time, so horse studies come natural to me. I have many sketchbooks of horse drawings since they usually stand still long enough for me to draw them. Horses are large, yet graceful and easy to love, however I’ve broken bones from riding a skittish horse, so there are negatives in the relationship as well

Exhibition
