Today I have gathered together some of my paintings of old Queensland houses. Many of the paintings show the back door of the house and some show a stove recess. This metal structure, attached to the back wall of the house, was needed so that a fire on the stove was less likely to spread to the rest of the house. The back yard of these houses often feature papaws, nasturtiums, bananas and many other typical Queensland plants.
