Veranda

A sunny veranda looking out over a tropical garden has inspired many of my paintings. We would all like to have the time to relax in such a comfortable spot.

Many items of enamel kitchenware and other wares rest on a blue patterned cloth. Bright light casts strong shadows throughout the painting.

A collection of brightly-coloured enamel pieces lifts the mood of any room. I enjoy painting these arrangements as it lifts my mood also.

These houses are near the south side of the Story Bridge, built on the steep ridge of Kangaroo point.

I use lemons in still life paintings to contrast with the many blue objects that I paint. Blue is my favourite colour and lemons make an obvious counterpoint.
