I have always loved boats. When I was eight years old, I came out from the UK on a big boat, through the Panama canal, calling at Pitcairn Island. It was a magic journey, especially for an eight year old. I still have the much loved sailor doll they gave to all the small girls on board. I have loved boats from that time and have painted them from time to time. Unfortunately, there is not a big market for paintings of ships, not in my part of the world anyway. There is, however a steady market for paintings of trawlers and pleasure boats moored in Brisbane creeks, so I paint those instead. I’ll show some of them in a later post.
