This photo has been taken well into the painting with the general ideas sketched out.

This is the finished painting, it has been toned down and made more subtle. The late addition of the chooks makes the composition more friendly. Without the chooks the rusted iron speaks of old age, decay etc. With the chooks the reminder is of something untidy but homely, like a chooks nest.
